Explore Corowa Take Away

If you ever find yourself in Corowa, one spot that’s well worth stopping by is Corowa Take Away, a classic local takeaway that blends nostalgic charm with genuinely satisfying comfort food. From the moment you walk in, there’s a welcoming, down-to-earth atmosphere, helped by a team of staff who are consistently described as warm, attentive, and happy to go the extra mile-whether that’s helping you choose from the menu or accommodating dine-in needs with extra plates and cups. The menu leans into hearty Australian takeaway staples, and it’s clear that portion size is one of their strong suits; meals here are generous enough that many visitors find themselves completely full before finishing. Their burgers, especially the fully loaded options, are a standout-packed, flavorful, and filling-while the fish and chips deliver that golden, crispy satisfaction people look for, with fresh fish and well-prepared sides. The potato cakes in particular have earned a reputation for being made in-house and done right, which says a lot to anyone who knows how important that detail is in a proper fish and chip shop. There’s also something charmingly retro about the seating, with booth-style arrangements that give the place a slightly old-school diner feel, adding to the overall experience. Prices remain reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes, making it a place where you feel like you’re getting real value for your money. Whether you’re dining in for a relaxed meal or grabbing takeaway, it’s the kind of spot that leaves people planning their next visit before they’ve even walked out the door.

After speaking with the wonderful staff my wife and I tried the burger with the lot. A huge feed my wife couldn’t finish. It was deliciously good. The booths we sat in were a blast from the past. We also had the chips and potato cakes. Again large portions and deliciously good. We wobbled out of there full and very content. Great feed and value. Will definitely be back.

Probably the best fish and chips I've had in a long time. You can tell a lot about a fish and chip shop by their potato cakes, they're really good. Clearly made in store. Fish was fresh and the burgers were also great. Very reasonable pricing too. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful batter. Fantastic scallops and prawns. Hamburgers to die for and all home made. Friendly service and very nice atmosphere with 50's style booth seating. New management are on fire with their improvements.

I got 2 large fish and chips meals thinking that me and my friend would finish, but NOPE! The meals were so much more MASSIVE THEN. I THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE! It took about 5 people to finish the meals (some other friends came along later) the chips were alright, I prefer the old ones better (the new ones are a bit too artificial for me). Also the fish was so good . Overall, I would DEFINITELY come back again
